CNS Ambassador Program
The CNS Ambassador Program provides medical students, residents, and fellows an opportunity to develop leadership, advocacy, networking, and professional skills while helping shape the future of neurology in California.
CNS Ambassadors serve as outreach representatives and early-career liaisons between CNS and trainees within their institutions, training programs, and professional networks. Ambassadors are encouraged to attend CNS conferences, advocacy events, and committee activities that match their fied of interest.

Am I eligible?
If you're training in California and curious about neurology, you likely qualify. Eligible trainees are referred to as “Ambassadors.”

Approved by the Board or Membership Committee
Ambassadors are appointed annually by the Membership Committee and approved by the Board. Reappointment happens each year, with your designation advancing as you progress through training and your career.

What does it cost?
Ambassadors join through a CNS trainee membership, which is
$30 annually for medical students, residents, and fellows. It is the lowest membership tier and the only cost to take part.

How do I apply?
Two easy ways in: apply online, or send a short letter of interest to the CNS Membership Committee.

Current training level & institution, your interests within neurology, any leadership/advocacy/research/volunteer experience, and a short statement on why you want to join. - Committee review
The Membership Committee reviews and votes on each applicant. - Board approval
Final appointments go to the CNS Board. Reappointment is annual, based on continued participation and interest.

Who runs the program?
The
CNS Membership Committee
oversees the Ambassador Program, handling recruitment, mentorship coordination, and recommendations for advancement to the Bylaws/Nominations Committee. The Board may set additional policies on appointment, participation expectations, or advancement criteria.

Can I present my research?
Yes. CNS may host a Trainee Research Forum at selected conferences, giving medical students, residents, and fellows the chance to present clinical, advocacy, educational, or research work.
Outstanding trainee presentations are recognized with the
CNS Young Investigator Award.
