Bring Neurology to Your Local Representative: CNS Balloon Day — July 23, 2026

One balloon, One message, One connection

Dear CNS Members and Supporters,

On July 23, the California Neurology Society invites you to visit your local State Senator and Assemblymember as part of CNS Balloon Day.

(Search who your representatives are by simply putting your address and zip code here https://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/)

Our goal is simple: one balloon, one message, one personal connection.

By introducing yourself to your legislators and their staff personally, you help establish CNS—and California’s neurology community—as a trusted resource on policies affecting brain health.

How to participate

1. Visit the district offices of your State Senator and Assemblymember on or before Thursday July 23, 2026.
2. Bring one balloon with a CNS advocacy message attached. (There are three; please bring one or more balloons, one balloon for each issue you feel strongly about)
3. Add your business card so the office knows who visited and how to reach you.
   
4. Briefly introduce yourself and explain that CNS is available as a resource on neurological health affecting public policy.
   
5. Ask about the legislator’s current interests and priorities; share what you learn with the CNS Legislative Committee (please email us)

        Protect young brains from repetitive head injury. Brain damage appears years after the final hit.

• California Must Ensure "Life Goes On" for People with Epilepsy When They Lose Their Driver's License.
  Keep Californians with epilepsy connected to work, school, and care; ensure transportation access.
  
  
• Design for Movement. Build for Brain Health.
  Encourage community planning that makes walking, biking, and public transportation safe and accessible—helping reduce stroke, hypertension, diabetes, and cognitive decline.
